Learn: Factions

Factions can help drive policies in the city, lend their power to pushing back the growth on the outskirts, or wage war with one another and cause damage and destruction. Factions are a way that people organize themselves into in order to fight for, have their voices heard, or join causes in which they hold close to them. Factions can bring about peace and rest, or be the direct reason entire sectors of Estin are at risk.

Joining a Faction

Anyone can join a faction so long as the invites are open and available. There are some factions that will be listed, but you can not apply to. These are 'invite only' factions, and unless you know someone or you have a wide enough network, you wont be able to join these.

Once in a faction, you can donate credits, items, weapons, and join conversations on faction-only forums. Think of factions as a private group of people who have similar goals, or shared ideas on how they want to make it in the city.

Faction Wars
Faction Wars

Factions can wage war on one another. This is done so by official delcaring an active war with the city (All faction dealings must go through the proper channels). Once a war is declared, factions are allowed to openly attack each other's members. A war may end when all of the faction's members are defeated on the Battle Field, or when a truce / cease fire is called.

Faction Control

This is a simple concept; the more members and power a faction has, the more control within their sector they have. Power is calculated by its members, their stats, wealth, and the faction's own inventory. A faction with a lot of control is viewed as more influential and has a lot more sway with what goes on within that sector. This ranges from laws & policies, to economical balances and more.
