The Beginning

Welcome to the Official Dev Blog for Fusion Effect: One!

Fusion Effect: One is a game set in the distant future, utilizing beleivable ideas through the mixing of hard and soft science fiction. We beleive in creating a story that's not entirely unrealistic while sprinkling some magic here and there.

Setting

The game takes place on a planet not unlike Earth. Humans are still the de-facto species and control most of the galaxies and solar systems they inhabit. The main focal point for FEO is within Estin City. A sprawling and ever-growing city full of things to do, people, and elements. It's a major city hub on the planet and has 5 different Sectors:

  • Helas
  • Kort
  • Aspira
  • Falnen
  • Schaden

In addition to some in-game benefits and policies, the sectors can be compared to any divide amongst real-life major cities. Sectors will have their background and lore evolving and revealed during the game, allowing players to get to know each sector's history.

Game Concepts

This is an online text-based MMORPG. It's a throwback to the time period when online games were mostly text-based with some imagery sprinkled in. You can fight other players in the Battle Arena. You can manage an array of Mining Drones to help build your wealth empire. You can start a Faction and recruit like-minded players to establish dominance within your sector. You can upgrade your living space to resemble your own tastes. You can establish a career for yourself while studying at the University in order to climb the career ladder.

The game has a little something for everyone's play-stlye and will change and grow with the players, their decisions, and 'world' events that require thought and action.

When's The Launch?

The game will officially and fully launch Early 2026. The plan is to fully develop the game over 2025 and open up an early Beta Testing period in late 2025. We want to ensure there are NO resets or progression wipes once we allow the first players to log in and play.

Why A Text-Based MMORPG In These Times?

Great question!

This game idea is actually a dirivitve of a previously existing game; Fusion Effect. It's a game that was developed around 6 years from 2005 to 2011. The height of the text-based online game period! The original game had very little in terms of graphics or story-line, it was just an early project that had a lot of loosely connected elements.

This game will have all of the features of it's predecessor, with more mature and developed storylines, mechanics, and intertwined elements. The mines you're exploiting help supply larger industries which have share holders (in the form of other players) to ensure they meet demand and expectations. The new pulse rifle you just bought has an entire company history, ethos, and CEO attached to it. The game will compromise of deeper elements for those players who wish to explore and obtain that knowledge.
